Job Description

We are seeking a Manager Professional Practice to join our Standards Unit on a permanent full-time basis.

The role of the Manager is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of RANZCR’s CPD Home including compliance with Australian Medical Council Standards and the Medical Council of New Zealand Revalidation Standards, and other core professional practice programs, CPD activities.

The Manager duties will include, but not limited to:

  • In coordination with the General Manager, Standards, implement the conditions and recommendations of the AMC/MCNZ accreditation outcomes.
  • Remain current with Medicare, MBA, MCNZ regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that RANZCR meets AMC CPD Homes Standards and the MCNZ Revalidation Standards.
  • Identify and develop suitable CPD for all Members, CPD Participants, Education Affiliates and Associates in conjunction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate a culture within the Standards Unit that assures high quality member engagement, inspiring member involvement in College activities.
  • Ensure a presence at all Australian and New Zealand Annual Scientific meetings for CPD homes and other matters appropriate to the ASMs and Standards Unit Activities.
  • Formulate expert advice, synthesising input from multiple sources, regarding matters relating to Standards Unit programs, including consultations, clinical guidelines and policies.
  • Provide oversight of the Unit’s secretariat responsibilities for key committees including the committee’s workplans and RANZCR strategic objectives and the progression of this work
  • Manage day-to-day operations for assigned program areas including Continuing Professional Development including the ePortfolio platform, professional standards and post fellowship professional practice activities.
  • Redesign program workflows to streamline regulatory and administrative processes for programs including but not limited to audits, certification and recertification of providers and consultations.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience with Regulatory Bodies.
  • Identification, development and procurement of CPD for member-based organisations.
  • Experience facilitating technical information from multiple sources and translating into pragmatic, member focused strategies.
  • Extensive experience in facilitating the development and/or adoption of professional practice standards in pursuit of clinical excellence.
  • Experience in program and/or service redesign to optimise outcomes and member experience.
  • Organising: Translating strategy into specific, measurable objectives, drawing up transparent plans, using the right resources and taking the necessary steps to avoid or overcome possible future obstacles.
  • Influencing: Reaching goals by making a good impression, utilising networks to increase knowledge, getting others to accept ideas by using convincing arguments, creating win-win situations, and responding efficiently to one’s discussion partners or audience.
  • Advising: Giving targeted advice to others within or outside of the organisation and establishing trusting relationships based on one’s credibility and expertise.
  • Achieving Objectives: Generating results by assuming responsibility for one’s performance and the correctness of one’s interventions, recognising opportunities and acting efficiently, at the appropriate moment and within the given deadlines.
  • Innovating: Offering innovative and original ideas that do not stem from existing processes and finding less evident models or original combinations.
