Recruiting Operations Manager, BYU Marriott School of Business Career Center

Are you passionate about driving student success and fostering connections between academia and industry? Join us at the BYU Marriott School of Business as Operations Manager in our Business Career Center (BCC). Reporting to the Associate Director of Operations, you will spearhead graduate and undergraduate career development and placement services. This pivotal role involves managing recruiting operations, overseeing student academic association activities, coordinating with corporate partners, and supervising student teams to ensure seamless operations.

What you’ll do in this position: 

Recruiting Operations Management: 

  • Serve as the primary liaison for recruiters from over 200 companies and over 1,000 on-campus events, offering guidance on navigating the Handshake online recruiting system and facilitating interview schedules, information sessions, and job postings.
  • Organize and execute all BYU Marriott Career Fairs, promoting job opportunities and coordinating on-campus recruiting events.
  • Facilitate onsite interviews between recruiters and students, ensuring a professional and efficient experience for all parties involved
  • Collaborate with BYU Marriott Director of Employer Engagement and Career Directors to host recruiters and enhance the overall recruiter engagement pipeline.

Student Academic Association Events Coordination:

  • Function as the main point of contact for student leaders and advisors within the BYU Marriott Student Academic Association (SAA), providing guidance on event planning and navigating campus policies.
  • Train SAA leaders on utilizing club.byu.edu and oversee the approval and scheduling of SAA events.

Administrative Oversight and Budget Management:

  • Lead a team of student employees, providing hiring, training, and ongoing support to ensure efficient operations.
  • Manage budget allocations and expenditures for company events and student association activities.
  • Direct the deployment of student resources to optimize team performance and productivity.

Support for Student Leader Advisory Council (SLAC):

  • Provide operational support to SLAC and sit on the SLAC Executive Council, contributing to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing student leadership experiences.

Data Reporting and Process Improvement:

  • Collect and analyze relevant data through Handshake and Qualtrics, maintaining weekly reports of key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive awareness of team performance.
  • Collaborate with student leads to identify areas for improvement and implement streamlined business processes to enhance operational efficiency.

 

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

  • A firm commitment to the mission of BYU 
  • Bachelor¿s degree or related degrees
  • 2 years of experience in business operations or higher education administration

Preferred

  • Master¿s degree (business or related degree)
  • 5 years of experience in business operations or higher education administration

Skills, abilities, knowledge, licenses, certifications required: 

  • Comfortable using the latest technology, recruiting systems and career development tools
  • Skilled in project management and conducting data analysis
  • Effectively communicate via email or other communication systems
  • Experienced in collaborating across organizations to achieve stated objectives
  • Ability to work well with all types of BYU students
