Representing more than 700 aircraft operators, ground services, business airports and the wider eco-system around business aviation, the European Business Aviation Association’s (EBAA)  mission is to enable responsible, sustainable growth for business aviation, enhancing connectivity and creating opportunities.

YOUR ROLE

The growth of business aviation, its prospects in the mid-to-long term, and the fast-evolving air transport environment in Europe and beyond are all having a decisive impact on the workload of the Association and its Secretariat.

Reporting to the COO, the manager is expected to assume and drive the most important challenges for our industry: sustainability and future workforce. This new role is suitable for either experienced junior managers that are ready to make the next step, or experienced aviation managers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow several specific files including strategies on CO2 emissions: EU-ETS, Corsia, taxation, technology, biofuels, noise, workforce development, S.T.A.R.S., etc.
  • Report to the COO on questions related to sustainability files and projects; in particular, (s)he will be responsible to ensure that his/her dossiers are being driven appropriately and that goals and objectives are met;
  • Propose and, where appropriate, implement strategies or projects aimed at influencing European institutions, international aviation organizations and our members;
  • Help the EBAA in developing harmonized policies on environmental policies with international organizations like IBAC, ATAG, etc.
  • Play a coordination role with other aviation associations and trade bodies to establish, whenever feasible, a united front vis-à-vis natural recipients (governments, EU institutions, etc.),  in Europe or internationally;
  • Provide periodic and comprehensive information to EBAA members on matters relevant to his/her portfolio;
  • Represent the Association on various platforms, both European and international. In particular, the  manager will liaise with associations such as IBAC, NBAA, and a few other regional associations;
  • Supporting EBAA members on environmental issues as they arise;
  • Collaborate closely with the EBAA communications/marketing team to leverage the awareness of sustainability and workforce;
  • Work on any other ad-hoc projects as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Have relevant professional experience in the aviation or environmental industry and understand the operational day-to-day challenges of our industry;
  • Have an excellent understanding of European air transport but more specifically the environmental challenges, opportunities and tools available;
  • Possess a good understanding of the functioning of the EU institutions, Eurocontrol and EASA;
  • Be a natural communicator, and feel at ease speaking in public;
  • Speak and write fluent English. French or German capabilities are considered an asset;
  • Be open-minded and able to travel worldwide;
  • This position could evolve into a senior manager level depending on the record and expertise of the successful candidate.
