Turning Point was established in 1994 to provide leadership to the alcohol and drug field in Victoria. Turning Point is now a national treatment, research and education centre that provides leadership in the alcohol and drug, gambling and mental health sectors. Combining research with service innovation, surveillance, system enhancements, education, capacity building and specialist support, Turning Point is a recognised centre of excellence that assists services, communities and governments to respond to current and emerging issues.
About the role
The Manager, Telephone and Online Services (TOLS) Turning Point is responsible for the leadership, management and development of programs that deliver telephone and online treatment interventions for a range of local, statewide and national services for people experiencing harm from alcohol, other drugs and gambling.
Turning Point provides high quality telephone and online services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and responds to around 120,000 contacts per year. The service operates over 20 helpline services covering five state jurisdictions and three national online services.
The staffing complement is made up of 35 counselling EFT covering 155 shifts per week across the 24/7 roster, and 10 EFT of service coordination and administrative staff.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in counselling, social work and health relate fields
- Experience in a senior management role
- Experience in the management of telephone and online service delivery is highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and negotiation
- Demonstrated capacity to write grants for project and program funding
- Demonstrated ability in service development and planning
- Financial management experience and demonstrated ability to develop plan and monitor budgets and report to governance committees and organisational executives
- Demonstrated experience in the recruitment, management, professional development of staff and working to enhance retention strategies in the unique sector of telephone and online service delivery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience in project management
