About the opportunity
Marketing and Communications is a professional division responsible for communicating the University’s values and messages to build a distinct brand for the University of Sydney. By engaging with target audiences– including prospective students and influencers, current students, staff, alumni, donors and other external audiences, our profile strengthens.
Marketing and Communications are looking for a Marketing Communications Assistant to join their team. This position will see you take on a range of duties including, but not limited to, creating content with a digital and strategic focus to share across our social media platforms and provide administrative and project support throughout marketing and communications.
About you
- has experience using social and digital media to reach and engage target audiences
- showcases a high level oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- holds the ability to plan, prioritise and organise workloads in a high-volume environment while adhering to strict deadlines
- has experience creating content and editing copy written by others to ensure that a publication, print or online, meets editorial requirements and objectives
- proven experience in setting up and managing paid social campaigns across META and LinkedIn
- demonstrates flexibility in their approach to work and is able to juggle numerous projects

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
