Purpose of RoleCoordinate a programme of marketing activity to generate awareness, conversion and retention of Young People, including UK students. Work with Head of Youth Marketing to ensure an inclusive scheme(s) that reflects and represents the broadest and most diverse student audience.Work with external agencies and internal teams to deliver marketing programmes and campaigns across a broad range of advertising and engagement channels including; email, social media, paid media e.g. search, social, freshers’ fairs.Evaluate the success of campaigns and contribute to the continuous improvement of all marketing activity.Key AccountabilitiesCoordinate marketing activity and campaigns that are consistently fresh, timely, and relevant. Ensure a standard of excellence across all touchpoints including insight-led copywriting, content selection, design, data selection/segmentation, writing use cases. Report, recommend and implement optimisation across all marketing activity.Work with internal and external partners and museums to deliver an on-brand, relevant pipeline of competitions, offers and paid opportunities for student members, developing and maintaining an excellent relationship with stakeholders, and delivering insight-led, QA tested assets / technical setup and campaign plan to support across website and marketing channels.Work closely with the comms team and any relevant external stakeholders to share results, informing future content ideas, and forward plan content in advance for email, and social (primarily Instagram and TikTok).Support Head of Youth Marketing in awareness driving and conversion campaigns to achieve annual recruitment targets by coordinating recruitment and renewal campaigns to target groups. Ensure effective and inclusive channel selection and creative approach.Deliver reports and recommendations to measure campaign performance, make recommendations to continually improve key metrics e.g. email open and click through rates and conversion rates. Create and develop segments and targeting based on specific campaign objectives, results and insight.Undertake briefings for customer services on campaigns, and work with supporter services to ensure any campaign promises can be fulfilled through our existing systems.Coordinate thorough testing and approval for digital developments related to target market; where appropriate work with suppliers on improvements and fixes.Support the Head of Youth Marketing with a range of administration tasks to help manage and monitor budgets and invoices, raise purchase orders and liaise with the internal finance team or suppliers to ensure timely payment.Develop relationships with a broad range of agencies and suppliers on the Art Fund’s roster to ensure that quality and service is delivered cost-effectively – including designers, copywriters, printers, mailing houses, advertising or creative agencies, media agencies and brand partners.Research marketing and broader cultural trends to identify potential opportunities and risks.Use 121s with line manager to champion your own learning and development, planning research and training that will ensure your continued growth.Support the Art Fund’s ambitions to be an inclusive organisation, open to everyone, by considering equity of access and diversity when developing briefs or commissioning internal or external creative work. Consider equity when developing partnerships or offers specifically or looking at media and targeting approaches.Alongside Head of Youth Marketing, become an internal expert on UK Student / University market, and support other colleagues wishing to work with or reach this market.Other Activities, Duties and ResponsibilitiesContribute to the overall development of the Art Fund’s marketing strategy and strategies to build awareness and the Art Fund brand.As a member of the Audiences and Engagement team, the postholder will work with colleagues across Art Fund and the wider sector to ensure our marketing and communications activity is effective and valuable and supports our strategic plan. You’ll help us identify where Art Fund can make a real difference in our priority areas and build our reputation in these areas: championing diverse and inclusive museum collections, workforce and audiences; reaching a new generation of museum goers that through digital and community experiences, as well as in the museum itself, and developing a sustainable sector. You will share the energy and commitment that Art Fund staff bring to their work, as well as a belief in the importance of arts and culture.Actively participate in the wider life of the Art Fund and from time to time undertake other duties as requested.Reporting LinesLine Manager – Head of Youth MarketingClose working relationship with: Digital Experience Team and Programmes team, and some external suppliers and agencies.PERSON SPECIFICATIONExperience· Minimum 3 years marketing experience in a charity or consumer environment· Experience in creating engagement programmes for young people· Demonstrable experience of working and liaising with external suppliers and agencies· Experience of digital advertising and e-marketing techniques· Experience of creating content for Instagram and email· Experience working with marketing automation tools to create segmented lists, build emails, and optimise programs· Experience of briefing and critiquing creative and design work.· Experience of managing consumer campaigns for young people and/or students· Experience of working with ESP providers with html· Experience of using Dot Digital· Experience of developing content for TikTok· Experience of working on a membership scheme.Knowledge· Understanding of media buying and digital landscape· Results orientated, with a good understanding of consumer marketing· Knowledge of using data and databases; especially those relating to not-for-profit sector· Highly competent at using MS Office programmes.· Knowledge of digital User Experience (UX/UI) best practices and methodologies· Knowledge of content marketing and SEO strategies· Familiarity with GDPR.Skills/Abilities/Competencies· Copywriting and editing skills· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal· Good analytical and problem-solving skills, can demonstrate an ability to develop creative solutions and make recommendations on improvements· Acute attention to detail· Organised with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise accordingly· Ability to work under pressure and to deliver to deadlines· Good negotiation skills.Personal Attributes· Ability to work as part of a team, yet capable of working very well independently· Flexible and creative approach· Excellent interpersonal skills· A passion for delivering a programme for young people, and for museums and galleries and art in general.· Great visual and design sense· Understanding/interest in cultural trends.
