Based in London with some travel to Edinburgh, an exciting Marketing Manager role has arisen in a leading firm of actuaries. The role holder will enjoy a varied role focusing on the delivery of exciting, creative and successful marketing initiatives for the firm’s energy arm. The successful applicant will be joining a well-respected, successful and growing business development team which develops and implements all marketing, sales and client development programmes within the firm and plays a key role in developing and delivering the firm’s strategy. The Marketing Manager will own the marketing programme for the firm’s energy arm, with responsibility for developing both an annual plan of activity and an approach to tactical and responsive marketing activities. You will line manage and be supported by two marketing executives and will be responsible for ensuring marketing activity supports the firm’s growth and mission. Developing and owning the overall annual marketing plan, including segmentation, targeting, tactical planning and channel strategies, you will be required to align with the leadership team to ensure plans are fit for purpose for overall brand awareness, product and service awareness, lead generation and relationship development. Developing and growing a strong brand and consistent voice across all marketing channels, the Marketing Manager will own and deliver the firm’s brand marketing programme and must ensure the work and results of marketing campaigns are best in class and continually improving. Managing the delivery of projects and tasks including taking briefs, follow up, measuring return on investment and ensuring internal stakeholder buy in at all stages will also represent important elements of this challenging role. The chosen candidate for the role of Marketing Manager will be a highly motivated graduate or equivalent and a marketing all-rounder, with a proven track record of developing and implementing appropriate strategic marketing and business development plans resulting in measurable commercial success in a professional services firm. Excellent people management, communication and consultative skills are paramount. A sound understanding of all areas of the marketing mix to increase the external profile of the business including events, digital, thought leadership, content, market research, communications, product and message development, client targeting, acquisition and development from planning through to execution will be essential, whilst knowledge of the energy sector, B2B marketing, subscription marketing, technology product marketing and partnership environments will also be highly advantageous.
