An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the award-winning, dynamic and collaborative marketing team within Cornerstone, Penguin Random House. We are looking for a creative, confident marketer with experience working in a fast-paced marketing team. This role will work across the list, with a focus on titles publishing on our Hutchinson Heinemann imprint, as well as on some of our biggest author brands.About CornerstoneCornerstone is a division within the iconic publisher Penguin Random House, our home. In turn, Cornerstone is home to six imprints: Century, Del Rey, Inklore, Hutchinson Heinemann, #Merky Books, and Cornerstone Press, each with its own specific focus and remit. Every Cornerstone book also goes on to become a Penguin paperback.Within publishing, Cornerstone has an enviable track record of bestsellers, prize winners and culture-shaping books, working with many of the world’s most interesting voices, often throughout their entire career. Our books span genres, categories and marketplaces globally.The roleThis role will create awareness of and engagement for Cornerstone books and authors in order to drive sales and build profiles. Working across new titles as well as catalogue books, including those with high level business priority, this role also includes brand management responsibilities for key authors.The candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments and display excellent communication skills. You’ll react to sales data and opportunities in the market, communicate campaign performance whilst honing and adapting live campaigns to maximise sales. You’ll be highly organised, simultaneously working across multiple campaigns and delivering them on time and to budget.Key responsibilities:Briefing your list of talented designers and writing excellent copy to ensure you produce best-in-class, attention-grabbing campaign creative and consumer messaging across all your assets and marketing material.Closely working with our media agency to build well-targeted campaigns. You’ll need a strong awareness of digital advertising platforms, experience working effectively with freelancers, the ability to analyse campaign performance and share insights to inform both individual campaigns and team best practise.Devising year-round brand strategy for key Cornerstone authors, commissioning audience insight and translating data into actionable strategy, identifying opportunities to grow brand awareness, hands-on channel management and excellent communication of plans and results to authors and agents.Being commercially minded, curious and inclusive in your approach. Bringing diversity of thought and innovation into the marketing team by looking outside the business for ideas and inspiration to share with the team and improve our work.Bringing together your experience with audience insight to provide feedback on acquisitions and leading on the creation of pitch documents for prospective authors.Devising the strategy for our Hutchinson Heinemann social channels – delivering follower and engagement growth. You’ll be responsible for creating content, and making sure all books on the HH list have a chance to shine.What you’ll bring:Track record of producing standout marketing campaigns across arts, culture, entertainment or the media industry.*Enthusiasm for working on literary fiction titles.*Excellent knowledge of new media, audience trends and online communities.*Highly organised with excellent time management in order to juggle concurrent campaigns.*Great communication skills to be able to pitch ideas, report back to stakeholders and produce materials both internally and externally.*Application instructionsPlease apply with your CV and cover letter outlining why you are the right candidate for the role by 11:59pm on Monday 18th November.
