About the team
The Mass Fundraising Unit sits in the Marketing and Fundraising division, and contributes over $50 million per annum to this goal, with over $15 million each year raised from Regular Giving supporters. Cancer Council NSW has invested significantly and successfully in the Regular Giving portfolio and has a strong track record of growth.
About the role
The Marketing Specialist role works as part of a specialised three-person team to ensure the continued success of the high-performing Regular Giving program.
Key responsibilities of the role
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the acquisition of new donors and the development of existing donors through face-to-face, telemarketing, digital and other direct marketing channels. Reporting to the Acquisition Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with external fundraising suppliers and plays an important role in maintaining collaborative relationships with agency partners, as well as managing the overall performance of individual campaigns and agencies. This position is highly influential in communicating the needs, achievements, and positioning of Cancer Council to its many thousands of supporters and is a key part of the organisation’s Regular Giving program.
About you
Essential:
- 5 years’ experience in the fundraising sector, or a related sales or direct marketing role
- Proven track record of measurable success in fast-paced and target-driven role or environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capabilities
- Proven project management skills and outstanding organisational abilities
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate high degree of initiative
- Experience of interpreting and acting upon data reports
Desirable:
- Excellent knowledge of face to face and telemarketing
- High level of competence with MS Excel
- Previous experience at a charity or fundraising agency
