- Salary: $106,514.08 Full Time Salary Package (Non-PBI Equivalent) + Super
- Base Pay: $97,377.28
- Up to $6,385.95 in tax-savings via our offered charity salary packaging.

- Status: This role is offered at Full Time. Minus18 is embarking to explore the potential of a 4 Day Work Week Trial. More information on this can be provided within the interview stage.
- Leave: We offer 5 weeks of paid leave each year. We offer once-off paid Gender Affirmation leave.
- Start Time: We offer flexible start times between 8:00 am – 9:30 am.
- Location: Out office is located at the Victorian Pride Centre in St Kilda, an exciting purpose built space for LGBTQIA+ community organisations which includes: a raised Tram Stop within 100m from the building entrance, elevators and accessible bathroom, end of trip facilities and dedicated prayer rooms.

Minus18 is Australia’s charity improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth. We support LGBTQIA+ young people through events and digital platforms, and provide fee for service LGBTQIA+ inclusion training to schools, businesses and community organisations. Since 2011 over 100,000 young people have engaged in these services across Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, and millions more via digital platforms.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Marketing Team Lead is the driving force of our Marketing outputs at Minus18. They are responsible for the development and implementation of a multichannel delivery strategy across our platforms, website and database.
This role will lead our delivery strategy across our audiences and offerings, as well as key moments of LGBTQIA+ inclusion including IDAHOBIT, Wear it Purple® Day & Trans Awareness Week. Working with the Brand Marketing Manager, they will ensure campaign and strategy effectiveness by utilising our captivating brand story and visual identity, and reviewing the performance of our platforms to ensure optimal growth and reach.
In addition, this role will lead the Marketing Team ensuring alignment to our strategy, consistency in our brand guidelines and leading the creation of marketing activations to effectively support our programs & partners.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership
- Effectively lead, coach and develop a high performing team with strong technical and interpersonal skills through work plans, 1:1s, coaching and engaging with professional development.
- Make decisions within the Team Leader matrix of authority including assisting in the recruitment of new Team Members
- Work with the Brand Marketing Manager to create targets, calendars and budgets that align with strategic goals.
- Lead and engage in cross departmental working groups and internal meetings to develop and use systems to improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of programming work.
- Team capacity is effectively managed
- Lead and engage in team planning and processes, ensuring increasing alignment between organisational strategic priorities and the activities delivered.
- Be a visible and approachable leader fostering positive internal relationships and encouraging collaboration & cohesion.
- Other actions as assigned by the Brand Marketing Manager
Marketing Operations
- Be responsible for the day to day operational management of the Marketing Team including leading team planning and regular meetings
- Work collaboratively with the Brand Marketing Manager to align on key marketing, campaign, and promotional priorities
- Implement integrated launch strategies ensuring consistency and effective marketing activations
- Manage Minus18’s marketing materials (print, digital, video) to ensure quality writing, design, printing, photography, online publication and promotion
- Implement eCommerce integration within marketing and brand activations (website; Shopify etc) to ensure high standards of photos, copy, design and conversion practices.
- Co-develop and implement marketing initiatives to build our brand growth on all channels, including EDM strategies, user journeys, written content, social media, and SEO practices.
- Lead donation strategy and implementation, including digital campaigns, updates to dollar handles, and upkeep of donation platforms (GiveNow, GiveOUT Day).
- Lead community moderation and psychosocial wellbeing initiatives for the Marketing team
- Support cultivating strong relationships with PR, media, influencers, and journalists to secure positive brand coverage and amplify reach
- Manage proactive outreach within our networks to promote Minus18 activations and strategic priorities
- Lead the production of high impact video content, engaging with production contractors where necessary.
- Lead the creation of creative collaborations, photo shoots and design outputs, cultivating positive relationships with external contractors.
- Use analytics to regularly report on Marketing Performance, suggesting improvements and strategies for growth
Website & Advertising
- Lead the development and implementation strategies for our websites, including new website builds, as directed by Brand Manager.
- Lead the upkeep (SAM) of our websites working with external digital agencies.
- Lead the visual updates to and merchandising of Minus18 products, offerings, and campaign pages across all websites
- Manage the upkeep and implementation of best practice updates to website pages, working with internal stakeholders on updates to landing pages.
- Manage the best practice organisation of Minus18 website CMS platforms, including maintenance of uploads, file management.
- Manage agency and contractor relationships for website changes and development, as well as other marketing projects
- Lead the development and implementation strategies for our Google and Social Media ads, including budgets and prioritisation
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal candidate has:
- Previous experience in a Leadership Position within a Marketing function or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in executing digital marketing strategies for campaigns, social media and B2B & B2C marketing.
- Proficiency in Creation Tools, CMS, Social Media, EDM & Paid Ad Platforms (i.e. Buffer, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, Adobe Creative Suite etc)
- Experience writing for SEO is desirable
- Strong lived experience and understanding of diverse identities within the LGBTQIA+ community (including but not limited to trans, gender diverse, and/or people of colour).
- Demonstrated passion for Minus18’s mission to improve the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- A successful Police Background Check and Working With Children Check (WWCC) are required for this role. These can be obtained once an offer of employment is made, and before role commencement.
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination status.
