Position Details
General Statement | Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non-tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. Instructors are needed to teach classes depending upon need and available funding. Applications are accepted on a continual basis (unless otherwise indicated) and will be maintained in the pool for two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to re-submit materials for continued consideration. Appointments are on a part-time basis and vary in duration, a semester or an academic year, depending on the specific needs of the department/program. Salary is dependent on number of courses taught and number of credits per course. The Department | The Department of Mathematical Sciences is recognized as a leading department of Statistics, Mathematics, and Mathematics Education. Bachelors, masters, and doctoral graduates in all of these areas are following successful careers in industry, government, and academia. Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, 80 miles north of Yellowstone National Park, we offer outstanding educational opportunities in an area of exquisitely beautiful scenery and outdoor recreation. Our department has a multifaceted role on campus and in Montana. We have the largest instructional component on campus, delivering about 10% of the total student credit hours. We offer a B.S. in Mathematics with options in mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics teaching, and statistics; an M.S. in Mathematics with options in Mathematics and Mathematics Education; an M.S. in Data Science; an M.S. in Statistics; a Ph.D. in Mathematics with emphases in Mathematics and Mathematics Education; and a Ph.D. in Statistics with emphases in Statistics and Statistics Education. |
