INTERNAL VACANCYThis post is suitable as a job share opportunity.The City of York Council are looking to appoint an experienced m & e engineering services professional to lead the M&E team within Property Services.The role:

• Working in an historic City with a varied portfolio of buildings
• To lead & work as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Undertake Surveys, specifications, manage works and to lead on compliance and health and safety.
• Develop and manage projects from inception to building completion
• Knowledge of planning and building regulation applications
• Preparation of tender documents, Contract Administration and Health and Safety information

Essential Skill, Qualifications and Experience:

• The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence.
• Experience in a similar or related role within the construction industry.
• Capable of running/managing their own projects, leading a team and working within a team on larger projects

With:

• Clear decision making in a timely manner based on facts and sound rationale
• High level of interpersonal and people management skills and attributes
• Highly literate and experienced with IT.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management and teams
• Self-motivated with excellent planning and organisational ability

Must have experience in:

• A similar role
• Interacting with clients and stakeholders at a senior level
• Detailed understanding of building services, health and safety, statutory regulations and compliance.
• Team management.

Qualifications:An accredited mechanical or electrical academic qualification or FM discipline to degree level, or equivalent extensive work experience.If this sounds like you, we look forward to receiving your application.Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role.
