Overview:

The IID organisation are seeking a qualified Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team in Mosul, responsible for overseeing the Monitoring and Evaluation aspects of our IID project. The role involves managing data input for targeting activities in our M&E system, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of project data. Reporting to the PDQ Coordinator and Project Manager, the M&E Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of project activities and ensuring alignment with the project work plan. Additionally, they will be responsible for monitoring hotlines and the complaint box in project locations and providing reports on feedback received.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the M&E aspects of the IID project, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  2. Manage the input of data related to targeting activities into the M&E system Such as KoboToolbox, MS Forms and Activity info…etc.,ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  3. Prepare regular reports on project progress, achievements, and challenges for the PDQ Coordinator and Project Manager.
  4. Ensure that project activities meet quality standards outlined in the project work plan.
  5. Monitor hotlines and the complaint box in project locations, collating feedback and reporting on issues raised.
  6. Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective implementation of M&E activities and integration with project goals.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

 

  • Qualifications:

    1. Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred and may be advantageous.

    2. Experience:

      • Proven experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in humanitarian or development projects, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in NGOs.
      • Demonstrated understanding of M&E methodologies, including experience in designing M&E frameworks, developing indicators, and implementing M&E plans.
      • Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting, with proficiency in using M&E tools and software.

    Preferred Skills:

    1. Data Management Skills:

      • Proficiency in data management tools and software, such as Excel, SPSS, STATA, or other statistical software.
      • Experience with database management systems and M&E software platforms.
    2. Analytical Skills:

      • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
      • Ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis and apply statistical methods where necessary.
    3. Communication Skills:

      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and other communication materials.
      • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders, including project teams, donors, and beneficiaries.
    4. Project Management Skills:

      • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
      • Experience in coordinating and collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
    5. Conflict Sensitivity and Cultural Awareness:

      • Understanding of conflict sensitivity principles and the ability to work effectively in conflict or post-conflict environments.
      • Cultural sensitivity and awareness, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
    6. Language Proficiency:

      • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken, is required due to the context of the project in Mosul. Proficiency in Kurdish is an advantage and may be preferred depending on the project’s location and beneficiary demographics.
