The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Sexual and reproductive health is a core component of the IRC’s work with a comprehensive package aiming to ensure care before, during, and after pregnancy – including safe and respectful maternity and delivery services for women and newborns; access to clients’ contraceptive of choice; treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; post-abortion care; and clinical care for survivors of sexual assault. The IRC completed the implementation of the She Cares Program at the end of 2024 and under this project, evaluation research will be conducted to measure contraceptive uptake and equity compared to other traditional models as well as client experiences and other program insights to support scale to impact.
Scope of work:
Reporting directly to the Health Manager, you will strengthen the MEAL efforts, approaches, and systems to foster learning and accountability for our clients; support IRC’s global and measurement ambitions of Strategy 100 and the Country Strategic Action Plan. You will oversee the MEAL functions of the health program in Lamwo District.
Under the guidance and supervision of the health manager, the MEAL Officer will be responsible design and implementation of MEAL activities and ensure effective monitoring of program inputs, processes, outputs, and program outcomes. S/he will ensure that quality data is obtained from the program facilities, research enumerators, VHTs as well as program staff when performing activities aimed at increasing access, coverage and quality of primary health care, public health reproductive health, and nutrition services in Palabek refugee settlement, Lamwo.They will supervise the data collection, quality assurance, analysis, and data interpretation on which to base program decisions. They will compile monthly reports and other reports for donor reporting and management decision-making; and prepare quality presentations for the review program meetings while providing data trends to inform program decisions. They will work closely with the research officer to district bios-tactician to build capacity of research enumerators to build capacity in data management while ensuring timely, accurate and high-quality collection to feed into research protocol. S/he will facilitate monthly data quality assurance.
