MEAL Officer (m/f)
in Sinjar
 

The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract until 31/03/2025. The base will be in Sinuni Office and The place of work will be in Sinjar, in Iraq (IQ). The position is paid according to SG5.

Together with project staff, collect representative data for the baseline/ end-line reports and to Assist the Expert MEAL in managing and reporting the project activities on monthly basis to the clusters.

 Your responsibilities

  • Ensure that all information required for the indicator matrix of the project M&E framework is collected, processed, inserted in the progress reports and adequately stored.
  • Assuring that the information used for M&E is reliable, accurate and correctly processed.
  • Assure that all collected data and processed information are properly stored in a logical and consistent way and are easily retrievable when required.
  • At the project level, establish continuous and collaborative interactions with all WHH partners and institutions that are collaborating/partnering with WHH at the project level.
  • Work collaboratively with WHH team for all that concerns information gathering collection and reporting on all activities carried out by the Project.
  • Work collaboratively with MEAL CO team to ensure Project Feedback, Complaints and Response Mechanisms (F-CRM) are strengthened at the project level.
  • Work collaboratively with MEAL CO team on planning and execution of Lessons Learnt workshops – Pause and Reflect events.
  •  
  • Keep project monthly reports stored/filed and elaborate summary compilation of the reported activities for the preparation of the Project progress reports and review meetings.
  • Develop strategic forecast on the progress of the Project, identifying areas of success and areas to be improved, constructively discussing suggestions with the Heads of Projects and CO MEAL team.
  • Engage in knowledge generation and evidence building for sharing and disseminating information in a more effective & efficient way.
  • Support the Heads of Projects in developing progress reports, including monthly, quarterly and end of project reports, ensuring all M&E data are accurate and up to date.
  •  
  • Carry out literature reviews on topics of relevance for the projects to ensure data triangulation at all levels.
  • Propose to the Heads of Projects, new research initiatives with the objective of covering information gaps and complementing the data available for the project, as well as for enriching the knowledge of the context and reach of the implementation of the Project.
  • Once new research initiatives are approved by the Head of Project, liaise with the MEAL Manager to undertake the tasks related to designing of the research protocols, tools and operational plans, and coordinate the execution of the field works.
  • Engage in capacity building of project members as well as partners’ MEAL staff in initiatives related to M&E methods and approaches, strengthening of data collection systems, as well as training enumerators for data collection activities.
  • Promote and implement initiatives for the dissemination of M&E information of the project among the beneficiaries’ communities and project partners.
  • Follow up and keep records of studies, reports, abstracts, workshop presentations and official communications related to the project.
  • Update regularly a centralized information system accessed by CO MEAL team members and maintain a resource library in conjunction with the MEAL team.
  • Systematically archive the progress reports and all other technical reports produced by the Project and ensure they are uploaded on relevant folders on ProMIS.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • University degree in social sciences, computer science, statistics/mathematics, and any relevant development or social sciences.
  • Ability to analyze and disseminate information with and to a range of stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in humanitarian and development interventions performance measurement, indicator selection, quantitative and qualitative data collection, statistical analysis and database management.
  • Capacity to manage, analyze and interpret quantitative data, generating graphs, charts, maps (with GIS software) and tables of required clarity and consistency.
  • Experience and ability to prepare M&E plans and reports.
  • Track-record in data evaluation, with developed research, analytical, documentation, report writing and planning skills.
  • Excellent reporting writing competence.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
