1. Background:
Gülümseme ve Zeytin Yardimlaşma ve Dayanişma Derneği “GvZ” (Basmeh and Zeitooneh) is a non-governmental, non-profit civil society organization that has been supporting the most marginalized, desperate, and affected people since 2014. From the beginning, GvZ believes that its role is to create ways to empower those affected by developing their skills and reviving their sense of humanity and dignity. Through its community centers, GvZ provides women, youth, and marginalized groups with a range of different humanitarian services such as relief aid, protection, education programmers, and communication with other humanitarian actors on how to advocate for issues deemed essential to bring to light. To this end, GvZ strives to continue honing the skills of people to participate in the peacebuilding process and actively advocate for a democracy that reflects a diverse and socially connected society.
2. Job Summary:
The MEAL officer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, leading, and controlling the project MEAL activities while supporting the project’ stakeholders in the development of their MEAL aspects.
3. Responsibilities:
- Developing a systematic and realistic plan for MEAL activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Taking the lead in implementing MEAL processes, which involve, developing tools, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Monitoring the progress of MEAL activities to ensure they are on track and making necessary adjustments as needed to achieve project objectives.
- Facilitating the empowerment of the organizations by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and knowledge to actively participate in MEAL activities and adopt result-oriented approaches.
- Assisting organizations in the development and enhancement of their MEAL frameworks, systems, and processes to ensure sustainability and long-term impact of project interventions.
- Maintaining regular communication and coordination with the project team and stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration in MEAL efforts.
- Engaging the project team in MEAL activities and fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the organization.
- Identifying potential risks and challenges related to MEAL activities and developing mitigation strategies to address them.
- Assist MEAL management in developing any required report for the organization.
- Compiling and disseminating MEAL findings and lessons learned to project manager and MEAL coordinator through regular reports.
- And any other tasks or responsibilities assigned by the line manager.
4. Education & Experience
- A Bachelor degree in Development Studies, Business or Public, Data management.
- Administration or other related social science field.
- MBA is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation tools in non-governmental organizations.

- Monitoring and Evaluation tools are designed, communicated and used.
- Projectprogram team is aware of the M&E requirements and tools.
- Quality of the projectprogram is tracked and reported. (targets, implementation, goal).
- Project overview report is produced by the end of the projects.
- Quality of donor reports are maintained.
- Problems solved with effectiveness.
- Participate actively in CSE unit and project team meetings.
