Caraires are working with an independent, multi-disciplined engineering enterprise who have a Mechanical Fitter/Fabricator role vacant covering Lincolnshire.They proudly support the Industrial, Infrastructure, Commercial and Service sectors with a unique range of contracting and rotating machine services.The RoleThe primary duties in this role would include:

• Performing inspections and disassembly of rotating machines
• Working on motors of various sizes
• The scope of works carried out could be to inspect, test, report and repair
• Checking the windings for damage or carrying out basic electrical tests to measure resistance and current
• Bearing or seal changes
• Measuring housings, sleeve dimensions, shaft sizes etc
• Balancing out rotors and fan units
• Daily environments can constantly change from the workshop to a water treatment plant or oil refinery.for example

Requirements for this position include:

• Holding a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, such as a City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent
• Previous experience in an Electro-Mechanical environment is essential
• Knowledge of medium and large electrical rotating machines (High Voltage), AC & DC motors and generators is preferred
• The ability to travel for short durations for site work in both the UK and Overseas is necessary
• Proper and safe use of industry equipment during repairs is expected
• Parts should be prepared and assembled to required standards for testing
• Assembling machines to QA standards in a timely manner is required
• A strong commitment to personal and site safety, both in-house and on customer sites, is essential
• Possession of a full driving licence would be advantageous
