We’re seeking a Media and PR Manager, who is passionate about raising the profile and reputation of our University through effective media campaigns and communications activity.  Working as part of the Marketing & Communications team, this is a pivotal role responsible for the development and delivery of a strategic media and PR and strategy, raising the profile of Falmouth University locally, nationally and globally, and positioning the organisation as a future-facing, ambitious hub of creativity and technology.
You will work with university leadership, academics and senior colleagues to create compelling content, aligned with our 2030 strategy, to support engagement with key audiences, including journalists, sector influencers and potential industry partners.
About You
The successful candidate for this role will need to be a pro-active “team player” who is conscientious and hard-working who actively plays their part in continuing to make Falmouth University a great place to work It’s a fast-paced environment, so we are looking for people who have the energy and agility needed to ensure we navigate an ever-changing HE landscape, as we execute our ambitious plans. Alongside these qualities, you’ll be an outstanding writer, be confident when dealing with senior stakeholders and enjoy communicating complex ideas to different audiences, tackling everything from good news stories, to national policy issues and crisis communications.

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following:

• Experience of leading the development and implementation of media and/or strategic communications plans
• Experience of writing for, or successfully pitching stories to, national media outlets
• Experience of writing about, or working on, complex policy or research issues
• Experience in crisis management
