Introduction: Women Empowerment Organization (WEO) in partnership with CARE Iraq is excited to invite qualified individuals to apply for the position of Media, Visibility & External Relations Trainer. This opportunity is part of the project titled “Strengthening Women’s Rights Movements on the Women, Peace, and Security agenda in three fragile contexts.”
About the Project: Women Empowerment Organization in partnership with Care, and funded by the BMZ, is working on Strengthening Women’s Rights Movements on the Women, Peace and Security agenda in three fragile contexts, by targeting WROs and WLOs in Salah Ad Din governorate as well as excluded groups of women and girls. The project will develop the institutional capacity of women-led bodies, increase accessibility and consistency to grant funding, and increase the effectiveness of platforms, networks, and alliancesso that women’s rights defenders can lead on peacebuilding, social inclusion, and promoting women’s voice and participation in decision-making. This project also aims to strengthen the Women Rights Movements to build inclusive and sustainable networks to collectively organize around UNSCR 1325 Agenda on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and engage with decision makers at the local, national and multi-country level under the following indicators, activities and outcomes.
Position: Media, Visibility & External Relations Trainer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Media, Visibility & External Relations Trainer to conduct training sessions for five women rights organizations in Tikrit, Salah Al Din, Iraq. The aim of this training is to enhance the media and external communication capabilities of these organizations, enabling them to effectively advocate for women’s rights and amplify their voices in the community.
Training Duration: 3-day training during the month of October (exact dates will be decided with the chosen candidate).
Training Location: Tikrit, Salah Al Din, Iraq

Scope of Work:
The selected trainer will be responsible for:
· Designing a comprehensive training program tailored to the specific needs of women rights organizations.
· Developing training materials, including manuals, presentations, and handouts.
· Conducting interactive and engaging training sessions for representatives of the five women rights organizations.
· Utilizing a variety of training methods, including role-playing, case studies, and group discussions.
· Equipping participants with practical skills in media relations, public speaking, and effective communication strategies.
· Providing hands-on training on creating compelling content for various media platforms, including social media, websites, and traditional media.
· Teaching participants how to develop and implement visibility strategies to raise awareness about their organizations and women’s rights issues.
· Offering guidance on building and maintaining relationships with media outlets and external stakeholders.
· Assessing the progress and effectiveness of the training through pre- and post-training evaluations.
· Providing constructive feedback and recommendations for further improvement.
Training Report Requirement:
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, the selected trainer will be required to submit a comprehensive training report at the conclusion of the training program. This report should encompass the following:
· An overview of the training session conducted.
· Highlights of participants’ engagement and progress throughout the training.
· Any adaptations made to the training content based on participants’ needs.
· Feedback received from participants regarding the training’s effectiveness and relevance.
· Recommendations for ongoing support and follow-up activities to ensure the application of learning.
· Results of the pre-post tests including charts and grafts showing the progress in learning.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess:
· A degree in Communications, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field.
· Proven experience in media relations, visibility strategies, and external communications.
· Demonstrated experience in conducting training sessions in the field of women’s rights or non-profit organizations.
· Strong understanding of the media in Iraq, particularly in Tikrit and Salah Al Din.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Fluency in Arabic and English Languages.
