Overall Purpose of the Job

To provide medical cover while the teams are working in the field

 Reporting structure

 Team medic directly reports to the Senior Medic.

 

Detailed Responsibilities

 

• He is aware of the general concept of operations
• He is responsible for the correct and timely diagnosis, treatment and advice on medical problems of team members
• Any medical problems encountered which fall outside of the limits of his training are to be referred up to suitably qualified medical personnel.
• He has easy access to the area in which team members are working.
• The ambulance is outside of the danger area
• Ensure that all medical stores and equipment are clean and serviceable.
• Ensure that all medical equipment are placed in a secure location at the end of a working period.
• Ensure that any damage to, or discrepancy in, medical stores and equipment is reported to the MAT team leader and Senior Medic at the earliest possible opportunity.
• He carries out any other operational tasks as directed to meet operational requirements

 

General Responsibilities

 

• Work within the framework of MAG’s core values
• Act as an ambassador for MAG
• Contribute to other fundraising initiatives where appropriate.
• Participate in meetings where relevant.
• Work in compliance with MAG’s Policies, including but not limited to,Equal Opportunities, Code of Conduct and Dignity at Work Policies.
• Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes.
• Undertake any other duties as may be required.

 

 

Person selection criteria

 

• An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work.
• The candidate should be educated to diploma level in health.
• Updated National ID.
• The candidate should pass MAG’s medical training course.

Salary: 1298701 IQD or its equivalent in USD at CBI rate.
