Reporting structure
Team medic directly reports to the Senior Medic.
Detailed Responsibilities
He is aware of the general concept of operations
He is responsible for the correct and timely diagnosis, treatment and advice on medical problems of team members
Any medical problems encountered which fall outside of the limits of his training are to be referred up to suitably qualified medical personnel.
He has easy access to the area in which team members are working.
The ambulance is outside of the danger area
Ensure that all medical stores and equipment are clean and serviceable.
Ensure that all medical equipment are placed in a secure location at the end of a working period.
Ensure that any damage to, or discrepancy in, medical stores and equipment is reported to the MAT team leader and Senior Medic at the earliest possible opportunity.
He carries out any other operational tasks as directed to meet operational requirements
General Responsibilities
Work within the framework of MAG’s core values
Act as an ambassador for MAG
Contribute to other fundraising initiatives where appropriate.
Participate in meetings where relevant.
Work in compliance with MAG’s Policies, including but not limited to,Equal Opportunities, Code of Conduct and Dignity at Work Policies.
Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes.
Undertake any other duties as may be required.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Person selection criteria
An understanding of NGOs and a commitment to humanitarian work.
The candidate should be educated to diploma level in health.
Updated National ID.
The candidate should pass MAG’s medical training course.
