This is a unique opportunity to elevate your journalism career within a fast-growing organisation at the forefront of global medical education.As a Medical Journalist, you’ll research, write, and report top-trending stories, attend major European congresses, and conduct interviews with thought leaders—all to keep healthcare professionals informed and empowered.📚 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Sourcing and writing SEO-optimised news on medical research, public health policies, and global healthcare trends.
• Publishing medically accurate, search-engine-optimised articles in EMJ’s house style daily.
• Attending international congresses and press briefings, providing written and video coverage of key events.
• Conducting interviews (written and video) with healthcare experts and KOLs.
• Monitoring emerging health trends and providing insightful coverage through EMJ’s lens.
• Collaborating with the editorial team to adapt content for multiple platforms, including the web, email, and social media.
• Contributing to the growth of EMJ’s podcast series and building a network of specialists across diverse clinical fields.

💡 What We’re Looking For:

• A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, publishing, or a scientific discipline.
• A keen interest in medical or scientific writing, with the ability to communicate complex medical concepts to a professional audience.
• Strong writing and editing skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficiency in content SEO, Google Trends, and WordPress.
• Confidence in front of a camera for interviews and video reporting.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple projects.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and the ABPI code of practice is a plus.

Key Information

• Salary: £30,000
• Hours: 8.30am – 5pm, Mon-Fri
• Working pattern: Hybrid min 3 days in the office (FT in office during probation)
• Reporting to: Managing Editor
• Location: Our buzzing London/Moorgate office
