Summary of Job Duties:

The Membership Director is part of a dynamic, listener- and donor-centered team, and is responsible for all individual donations to the station – through direct mail campaigns, email campaigns, face-to-face cultivation, on-air fundraisers, and other efforts. They will be detail-oriented and self-motivated, with a commitment to KUAF’s mission, high quality journalism, and the public media industry. This position has three primary areas of focus:
1. Provide excellent donor service to KUAF listeners and members, working with the University of Arkansas’s Gift Services department to process all listener contributions, maintain accurate records, and communicate professionally and promptly to internal and external constituencies verbally, in writing, and in person (25%)
2. Create the strategy for KUAF’s annual giving campaign and reach yearly fundraising goals through existing efforts (listed below) and through special strategic campaigns, using analytics to make data-driven decisions, and other duties as assigned (25%)
3. Plan, execute, and evaluate KUAF’s annual fundraising plan through daily, weekly, and monthly duties. These include processing monthly sustainer gifts, creating, mailing, and processing renewal mailings a month, monthly pledge reminders, fundraising email campaigns, and planning and executing KUAF’s four annual on-air fundraising campaigns (50%)
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The formal education equivalent of a Bachelor of Arts from an accredited college or university, with a degree in English, Journalism or related field

  • Experience in non-profit annual giving or membership fundraising, gifts processing, database maintenance, donor relations, and/or media relations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in public radio fundraising, direct mail and monthly giving programs

  • Experience in multiple forms of membership giving such as processing bank drafts, credit card charges, payroll deduction and planned gifts

  • Experience working with volunteers and with special events

Additional Information:

This is a five-year appointment, renewable based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role.

Salary Information:

Commensurate with education and experience.
