Job Type: Full time (15 months in the first instance expected to continue as
the forum establishes).
Salary: 26,000- 28,000 depending on experience.
The Menai Strait Partnership Forum is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at fostering
collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development within the Menai Strait community. As
the first ever role in this exciting project, we are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual
to serve as the forum coordinator. This role is instrumental in laying the foundation, shaping
the strategic direction, and nurturing partnerships for the long-term success of the forum.
About Menai Strait Partnership Forum:
The Menai Strait Partnership Forum brings the community together to deliver innovative
solutions to the Menai Strait. A partnership between the Menai Strait Fishery Order Management
Association ( MSFOMA) and North Wales Rivers Trust, to connect the issues between land and
rivers, and how they are impacting the water quality on the Strait. We are dedicated to
ensuring the Menai Strait remains sustainable for wildlife, recreation and business. We believe
that progress happens by bringing people together. People from all walks of life, who have the
drive and the influence to make a positive change. This role will be hosted and managed by the
North Wales Rivers Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set Up and Launch: Lead the establishment and phase two launch of the Menai Strait
Partnership Forum, including defining its structure, governance, and operational procedures.
- Community Engagement: Act as a liaison with the public and local community and businesses,
ensuring that their voices and needs are considered in the forum’s activities through co-design
opportunities. Facilitate a series of events and engagement opportunities.
- Strategic Vision: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic plan for the forum,
aligning with its mission and goals. Drive the organisation towards the successful realisation
of its vision.
- Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with
relevant organisations, government entities, and stakeholders to sustain the forum’s mission
and activities.
- Project Management: Oversee and coordinate various projects, ensuring they are executed
efficiently and within established timelines.
- Innovation: Encourage and implement innovative approaches to address challenges and
opportunities in the community, making the forum a hub for creative problem-solving.
- Resource Acquisition: Secure the necessary resources, including funding, grants, and
sponsorships, to support the sustainability of the forum.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., community development, project management, ocean
sciences, etc.) or equivalent lived experience. - Proven experience in community engagement, project management, and partnership development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- A passion for community development and sustainability.
- The ability to speak Welsh to Intermediary Level 4 is essential for this role.
- Driving licence and use of their own car for business purposes.
- Fluent in IT skills such as Microsoft and Google Drive applications.
