The UpStart program, funded by the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), offers a unique opportunity to support consumers with mental illness through community engagement and employment opportunities.

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will provide flexible, person-centred support for up to 6 months, helping consumers build strengths, engage in community activities, and pursue volunteer, study, or work opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive holistic assessments and develop recovery-oriented care plans for consumers in the UpStart program.
  • Provide one-on-one case management, focusing on helping consumers access community engagement and employment opportunities through a strengths-based approach.
  • Collaborate with Peer Workers and other team members to coordinate care meetings, reviews, case discussions, and safety planning.
  • Deliver flexible, outreach support services, including telehealth and face-to-face options, to consumers and their families.
  • Contribute to program planning, implementation, and evaluation, while promoting the UpStart program to internal and external stakeholders.

About You:

You bring experience in recovery-focused mental health services and a strong commitment to consumer-centered care. Your ability to work autonomously, coupled with high emotional intelligence, makes you a valuable team player. You have experience working with diverse communities and are dedicated to addressing the social determinants of health. A second language is highly regarded.
