EACH One Matters is a mental health program which provides individual and group therapy tailored to the needs of older people (a resident or transitioning to an aged care facility) who need to talk about the changes in their life.
About the role
We are looking for a passionate Mental Health Clinician to join EACH One Matters in providing support to older adults (a resident or transitioning to an aged care facility) who need to talk about the changes in their life.
As Mental Health Clinician your responsibilities will include:
- Providing psychological interventions in residential aged care facilities. You will support the connection and engagement with natural and local supports such as families and loved ones and consult with aged care staff and provide care team planning and integration.
- Providing in-reach and high quality specialist counselling to older people residing in residential aged care facilities experiencing mental health difficulties.
- Providing client services that meet prescribed workload expectations and service targets (12 individual sessions; one tier 2 group session; one tier 3 group session per week – full time equivalent).
- Seeking out opportunities to cooperate with other general and specialised support services to guarantee well-coordinated client care.
- Each One Matters staff we work closely with facility staff, residents, your GP, and families.
Who we are looking for
To succeed in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in providing individual counselling therapy, as well as an understanding and experience providing therapeutic approaches such as ACT, mindfulness, brief therapy.
- Demonstrated expertise and understanding in working with mental health, the impacts of trauma, vulnerable people and family conflict.
- Knowledge of the services, and networks that are available in the Mid North Coast of NSW.
- Demonstrated understanding of the social model of health and mental health recovery principles and processes.
- Computer literacy in Windows, Word, Email and data-base applications.
Highly regarded Qualifications and/or Certifications:
- Bachelor Degree qualification desirable by discipline. Dementia specialisation is preferred but not a mandatory qualification.
