Background

HeadtoHealth is a free and confidential service, provided by the Australian Government, that is available to anyone in need of mental health advice and support. It is not a crisis or emergency service, however it connects people to mental health programs and services that best suit their needs to keep mentally healthy.

The opportunity

The Mental Health Clinician will function as a member of a dynamic multidisciplinary, multi-agency team. As the Mental Health Clinician, you will be responsible for a range of clinical services, including treatment coordination, intake, mental state examinations, risk assessments, care planning, case management, group work and discharge planning.

To be successful for this role you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work or Psychology, Counselling, or Alcohol and Other Drugs
  • Previous experience in providing expert clinical assessment, triage and intake skills and clinical mental health interventions and when required short term treatment
  • Experience working in an environment with a focus on clients with complex needs
  • Understanding of current mental health system, and local service providers
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to successfully manage difficult situations
  • Three doses of COVID-19 vaccine in accordance with Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (TGA)
