Position details

  • x2 Part Time Permanent positions (0.6 FTE) 3 days per week
  • Health Professional Support Services Level 2 or Nurses Award Level 2 with a salary range of: $88,406 – $98,899 per annum pro rata + Superannuation.

About your new role

The Allied Health professional roles will operate from within The Way Back Service (TWBS)

The Way Back is a Suicide After Care Service designed to provide support to people who have recently experienced a suicidal crisis or attempted suicide. TWBSS provides strength-based support that empowers participants to connect to with clinical and community-based services to meet individual needs to build resilience and create a sustained reduction in risk of suicide.

The Way Back psychosocial support is complimentary to, and integrated, with the provision of clinical support, with both working collaboratively and consultatively to achieve positive participant outcomes.

As an Allied Health Professional, you will draw on your discipline skills engage with participants, other clinicians, the participant’s treatment team, lived experience peer workers, Neami staff and family/friends/carers to provide high quality evidence-based interventions to facilitate goal focused support to improve overall wellbeing and safety to service participants. Interventions will be flexible and tailored to meet individual need, with a focus on building capacity to self-manage distress.

What you will bring to the role

  • As a Mental Health Clinician, you will have registration with the relevant accreditation body in your field. It is a responsibility of the incumbent to maintain all registrations requirements with the appropriate registration authority and continuing professional development.
  • Social Worker, Nurse, or Occupational Therapist – General or Clinical Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Experience in providing therapeutic intervention to people presenting in distress, and;
  • Experience and understanding of working with people with a mental health condition, suicidality and/or deliberate self-harm.
  • Skilled and experienced in delivering evidence based therapeutic interventions, such as CBT DBT and motivational interviewing.
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in case presentations.
