1. Overview

NUAA is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from qualified and experienced mental health social workers to provide on-site employee assistance to the DanceWize NSW Program during upcoming multi-day music festivals. This role will involve offering immediate support and intervention to NUAA volunteers and staff and will contribute to a safe and healthy working environment. 2. About Us

DanceWize NSW is a program of NUAA NSW. DanceWize provides on-site harm reduction and care services to people attending music festivals in NSW. The program is staffed by a dedicated team of employees and volunteers who are drawn from the community that they service.

3. Role and Responsibilities

The Mental Health Social Worker will be responsible for:

  • Providing on-site emotional and psychological support to DanceWize NSW volunteers and staff.
  • Assessing and managing crisis situations and offering immediate intervention.
  • Conducting individual and group counselling sessions as needed.
  • Collaborating with the DanceWize NSW festival staff to ensure a coordinated approach to mental health.
  • Develop and deliver workshops on stress management and mental health awareness.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions and interventions.
  • Assisting in the development of protocols and procedures for mental health support during the festival.
  • Proactively support the on-site coordination team with managing interpersonal conflict to ensure smooth operations.

4. Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • A relevant qualification in social work, psychology, or a related field.
  • Registration with the AASW and hold professional indemnity insurance
  • Proven experience in providing mental health support in high-pressure environments, preferably within the events or entertainment industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training on mental health topics is an advantage.
  • Availability to work on-site for the duration of the festival, including evenings and weekends as required.
