Housing and Accommodation Support Initiative (HASI) of Uniting, Recovery division, is a community outreach service assisting adults with mental health issues to maintain successful accommodation, as well as assisting them to participate in their communities.
- Part-time contract position in Maitland until 30 June 2025 with the possibility of extension depending on the fund

Role Overview:
The Support Worker of HASI Hunter New England will work with the Team Leader to ensure that the most appropriate and effective psychosocial support services are provided to Hunter New England consumers. Support workers will assist with the creation of individualised recovery plans to aid consumers in reaching their recovery goals.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist with the assessment of consumers and the development of individual recovery plans based on individual recovery goals.
- Assist in the delivery of individual assistance for consumers with a mental illness, based on individual recovery goals to support consumers.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum Certificate IV in Mental Health or related field
- A current full driver’s license
- Experience working with consumers with severe and persistent mental illness
- Understanding of the Principles of Recovery-Orientated Mental Health Practice
- Demonstrated ability to develop individual support plans with consumers
- Availability to work a 7-day rotating roster (8AM-4PM) including weekends/weekdays and public holidays
- Ability to provide individualised psychosocial support to people living with severe and persistent mental illness
Desirable Criteria:
- Completion of ASIST training and/or experience in suicide intervention
- Successful completion of ‘Mental Health First Aid’ training
- Successful completion of ‘First Aid’ training
