Access Health and Community and Inspiro recently announced their intent to merger in 2025. Our organisations have a long history of partnering together to improve health and wellbeing for our communities. We believe that a merger will be a significant and positive step for the delivery of services to our communities and provide opportunities for our people.

The opportunity

The Communications and Community Engagement Lead will support the merger between Access Health and Community and Inspiro through the planning, transition and post-merger integration phases. You will work collaboratively across both organisations, developing and implementing best practice strategies to build awareness and support for the merger and ensure that our communities are engaged in the merger process.

Reporting to the Merger Project Director this role requires flexibility to work across all AccessHC and Inspiro sites as required. Experience in supporting a merger within the for-purpose sector is highly regarded but not essential.

What you will be doing

Key responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a communications strategy to ensure internal and external stakeholders are aware, engaged and supported through the merger
  • Support leaders to foster relationships with community stakeholders and members to ensure awareness, understanding and support for the merger
  • Work collaboratively with leads across both organisations to ensure activities are coordinated with existing activities, and are timely and clear
  • Lead the development of an approach to branding for services in the Yarra Ranges post-merger in consultation with key stakeholders
  • Post-merger, coordinate the development of a shared brand identity and strategy across the two organisations with relevant advisors and stakeholders

What you will bring

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or community engagement; or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a communications or community engagement leadership (preferably within health or social services)
  • 3+ years of experience supporting projects involving significant change management and stakeholder engagement
  • Demonstrated skills in developing and executing communications and community engagement strategies
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications

Desirable:

  • Experience of supporting a merger within the for-purpose sector is highly regarded

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skill, with a demonstrated ability to interact with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience working within a complex stakeholder engagement environment to negotiate and deliver on priorities
