Job Description
Under the general guidance of the MHPSS Programme Manager and the direct supervision of the Technical Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Camp As Sayliyah (CAS) Protection Mobile Emergency Team by performing the following functions and responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Assist on a 24/7 stand-by for any sudden or on-going emergency that requires MHPSS intervention/treatment.
- Support MHPSS Services by providing admin and clerical assistance to qualified technicians in the context of emergency when identifying and referring individuals in need of specialized mental health care to a psychiatrist for adequate follow up.
- Assist the MHPSS team in needs assessments and the promotion of psychosocial support activities.
- Assist in the constant coordinations between members of the emergency mobile team i.e., Protection, MHD, Medical referrals etc., while keeping the management updated with the case(s) at all times for appropriate decision making.
- Assist to maintain service mapping and referral pathways.
- Assist in the organization of platforms and workshops for the dissemination of key information and advocacy messages on MHPSS.
- Assist to organize capacity building activities for IOM staff, CAS focal points, Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) and community volunteers on psychosocial support related issues through workshops and trainings.
- Promote and maintain confidentiality and the right to privacy regarding the beneficiary and project information.
- Help with the continuous monitoring and evaluation of the program.
- Provide admin and clerical support in the collaborations with other healthcare providers to evaluate the medical & physical condition of clients.
- Provide admin and clerical support in the creation of personalized MHPSS Services plans.
- Assist in the assessment social needs when performing MHPSS Services.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- University or Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, counselling psychology, or any other relevant field with three years of relevant professional experience.
- High school degree with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional accreditation from a recognized psychological or counselling association-society is advantageous.
Experience
- Two years experience in MHPSS programming.
- Excellent knowledge and skills in MHPSS programming resilience, psychosocial support. community based activities, development and mobilization, especially in an emergency context.
- Experience working with at-risk community members.
- Experience in liaising with governmental and diplomatic authorities and stakeholders, working in international organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization.
- Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare clear and concise formal correspondence and project reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a multi-cultural setting.
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles.
Skills
- Strong organizational, facilitation, communication, writing and presentations skills.
- Proficient in a Microsoft Office environment and office software packages; Data entry (database management) skills.
Languages
- For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Knowledge of Dari/Farsi/Pashto and Arabic is an advantage.
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
