MHPSS Specialist

The MHPSS Specialist will provide technical leadership and support in designing,
implementing, monitoring and evaluating mental health and psychosocial support
interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
● Curriculum and training material development of MHPSS interventions
(Group, Individual, Family, Children sessions)
● Develop tools and protocols for MHPSS activities, including case
management and referral systems.
● Supervise MHPSS sessions trainers and psychologists
● Ensure MHPSS activities are in line with IASC guidelines.
● Conduct needs assessments and mapping of existing MHPSS services and
gaps.
● Monitor and evaluate the quality and impact of MHPSS activities, and adjust
as needed.
● Establish referral mechanisms in a target community
● Oversee case management
● Liaise with relevant clusters, working groups, and other stakeholders to
coordinate MHPSS activities.
● Provide regular technical reports and contribute to donor proposals and
reports.
● Build capacity of staff and partners through training, mentoring, and technical
support.

Personal Qualification:
● Advanced degree in psychology, clinical social work, psychiatry, or a related field.
● Minimum 4 years of experience in MHPSS programming in humanitarian or
development settings.
● Strong knowledge of IASC MHPSS Guidelines and evidence-based mental health
interventions.
● Proven experience in capacity-building, supervision, and coordination with multi-
sectoral teams.
