FCA Kenya is currently implementing a project funded by the Bureau for Population, Refugees, and Migration (BPRM) education project named Right to Inclusive and Safe Education (RISE III) in Kalobeyei Settlement. The Multi year project is implemented across 8 primary schools that have a population of 29,212 learners (55% boys, 45% girls) and 311 teachers. The project aims to promote enhanced access to inclusive, equitable, and quality primary education in a safe environment for refugee and host population boys and girls in Kalobeyei Refugee Settlement.

It addresses the needs of the most vulnerable children, including children with disabilities (CwDs), out-of-school children (OOSC), and over age learners’ children in Kalobeyei Settlement and surrounding host communities in Kenya. FCA Kenya is implementing the action and is accountable to the donor for the implementation of project activities. The activities are related to improving access to quality education through primary teacher education training, improving protection, safety, and well-being of learners in the schools, and increasing access to safe and inclusive primary education. The project also focuses on the psychosocial well-being of teachers and learners in the schools. The year one phase of the project is coming to an end in July 2024, thus the need for mid-term evaluation. An end-term evaluation was conducted at the end of the RISE II in August 2023, which acted as a baseline for the project.
