Middlemarch Training Academy – Trainee Programme

tendersglobal.net

What is the Middlemarch Academy?

The Middlemarch Academy is a trainee scheme that encapsulates our commitment to making a
positive impact. It is designed to equip our next generation of ecologists and natural
environment professionals with the skills and experience to safeguard our natural environment
and lead the fightback against biodiversity loss.

Prior to a covid-enforced hiatus, we ran a very successful trainee programme between 2014 and
2020. Our new academy will see us launch a new and improved programme, aimed at aspiring
entry-level ecologists.

What’s on Offer?

The training academy offers a paid, two-year trainee programme and the opportunity to build a
well-rounded skill set, encompassing technical, business and client-facing skills.

The evolving role of the modern ecologist presents a range of different career paths. As a
trainee, you’ll get to work in a range of different teams and departments across Middlemarch.
By gaining hands on experience in different aspects of the job, you’ll be able to identify
areas in which you have a particular interest, ultimately choosing your own adventure.

We’ll work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan to support your progression, and to
tailor your training and development needs accordingly.

Our Promise to You

We promise to support your career development in the exciting world of ecology and natural environment consultancy. You will gain hands on exposure to different parts of the ecologist role to develop an understanding of how a project works from start to finish. Our only ask is a
passion for the natural environment and the desire to make a difference.

As a Middlemarch trainee, you will receive:

  • Salary at Real Living Wage rates (we are an accredited Real Living Wage employer)
  • Full employment benefits, including pension contributions and the ability to earn a
    discretionary performance-related bonus.
  • Holiday allowance starting at 24 days, plus all statutory bank holidays.
  • Paid overtime and the opportunity to accrue Time Off In Lieu (TOIL)
  • Access to our Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Coaching and mentoring from our team of experts, alongside structured internal and external
    training.

Eligibility

Initially we are seeking applicants in proximity to our Midlands head office (Coventry, CV5), however we
plan to expand the scheme in 2025 to include applicants from across the UK.

Aside from this, our only ask is a passion for the natural environment and the desire to make a
difference. We would love to hear from applicants from all backgrounds.
