Ministry Trainee

South Park Chapel is a small but very active Evangelical church in multi-cultural Ilford, East London. Our vision is to make Jesus Christ known to everyone in our area, and to make disciples of all nations. We offer our ministry trainees the opportunity over 1 or 2 years to learn the skills for a lifetime of making disciples, whatever you go on to do in later life. 

As a trainee with SPC, you will 

• Study one day a week at Cornhill (starting in September 2024)
• Practice sharing your faith in a multicultural context
• Teach and encourage people of all ages from the Bible in small groups and 1-2-1s
• Help with the practical aspects of running a church
• Learn to love and serve people of all sorts of backgrounds, levels of need and character

There are also opportunities for helping with the music, technology, craft and catering, depending on your skills and interests. You will work closely with the womens’ worker, church elders and other volunteers, and you will be well supported in your growth and learning in this role. 

We offer free accommodation in a shared house (bills included), an allowance to cover living expenses and we pay the fees for Cornhill.

This role is suitable for an evangelical Christian aged between 18 and 35 who wants to make disciples of people from all nations, grow in your Bible handling skills / preaching, is teachable, well organised and able to work well in a team.
