Missouri Online Data Analyst I – Remote and Hybrid Opportunities Available

The Solutions and Analytics Team within Missouri Online delivers scalable, high-performing analytic dashboards, reports, and insights to stakeholders across the four campus UM System. We are seeking an analyst to help discover actionable data from a variety of higher education sources. The ideal candidate will enjoy transforming data into easy-to-use yet feature-rich dashboards and have a service-oriented mindset with a strong desire to help stakeholders uncover insights from learning-related datasets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Data Analysis: Utilize analytical skills to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and generate actionable insights to support business objectives. 

SQL Expertise: Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and transform data from various databases and sources (e.g.,  BigQuery). 

Data Modeling: Create curated data structures that map, clean, and/or transform data from operational systems into datasets suitable to meet business needs. 

Data Validation: Implement robust data validation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve data discrepancies and anomalies. 

Report Generation: Create and deliver clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. 

Data Visualization: Utilize data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI) to present data-driven insights in a compelling and easy-to-understand manner. 

Data Quality Assurance: Develop and execute data quality checks, including data profiling, data cleansing, and data enrichment, to maintain high data quality standards. 

Ad Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc analysis as requested by various departments to support decision-making and address specific business questions. 

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of SQL queries, data validation processes, and data analysis methodologies. 

Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, tools, and emerging technologies related to data analysis and SQL. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement.
