Org. Setting and Reporting

Its mission is to help Palestine refugees in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and the Gaza Strip to achieve their full potential in human development, pending a just solution to their plight. UNRWA’s services encompass education, health care, relief and social services, camp infrastructure and improvement, microfinance, and emergency assistance. UNRWA is the largest UN operation in the Middle East with more than 30,000 staff. UNRWA is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions. The incumbent reports to the Programme Support Officer.

Responsibilities

  • In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent: (A) Supports the team in designing and implementing monitoring systems and to gather data for research, advocacy and programming purposes; creates systems and trackers to collate and manage data. (B) Acts as a primary focal point for reporting and analysis activities; produces and supports the Projects Officer in creating reports including weekly, monthly, quarterly, interim, and annual reports in addition other ad-hoc reports. (C) Works with the Projects Officer to establish targets and baselines for indicators and to create data collection plans/tools, including conducting training on monitoring and analysis for other team members. (D) Assists in setting and implementing the Programme’s planning mechanism through the collation and analysis of data and trends from internal and external sources on issues relevant to CIU. (E) Monitors the quality of data and reports collected and reports on the level of quality to the Projects Officer; works with staff to resolve any problems in the quality and conducts necessary trainings to improve problems detected. (F) Performs such other duties as may be assigned

Education

  • A university degree in business administration, public administration, public policy, economics, planning, statistics, analytics or other related disciplines.

Work Experience

  • At least two years of relevant experience in programme/project implementation, monitoring and data analysis, reporting or related fields is required. Excellent computer skills is required. Experience in creating monitoring tools and data bases is required. -Please confirm if you live/ reside in West Bank or Jerusalem? Languages

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
