STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of a post high school education.

Experience: 5 years’ experience in agriculture or livelihoods field.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Sesotho.

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

This job is based in Mokhotlong and reports to Programme Policy Officer.
The job holder is expected to take responsibility for completion of a range of processes and activities related to monitoring that require some interpretation of standard guidelines/practices.

JOB PURPOSE

To coordinate and perform monitoring activities within a specific coverage area (Mokhotlong district) and provide reports to support the effective delivery of assistance packages.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  1. Initiate partnerships at district and community level to support implementation of resilience building activities, creation, and restoration of productive, nutrition sensitive assets.
  1. Participate in community based participatory processes to identify resilience building activities.
  1. Prepare food and non-food items delivery/distribution plans for the school feeding programme in collaboration with Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) and Food Management Unit (FMU).
  1. Coordinate with MoET and FMU to ensure timely delivery of food and non- food items, and in appropriate food safety conditions.
  1. Conduct physical check and stock reconciliation; enter & update physical inventory in LESS and ensure correct warehouse stock reports.
  1. Prepare school feeding quarterly post distribution reports and food security monthly reports.
  1. Coordinate establishment of vegetable gardens in ECCDs centres.
  1. Advocate for the homegrown school feeding by linking Ministry of Education and Ministry of Agriculture to ensure that there is communication between farmers and NMAs.
  2. Support Ministry of Agriculture in the establishment of Nutrition Clubs and support community field visits.
  1. Identify and report to the Programme Officer any implementation bottlenecks, discrepancies and shortcomings and propose corrective actions to overcome those problems.

Programme Monitoring and Review Gathers, organizes, and provides data on programme outputs, processes, and outcomes, including distribution plans and the status, quantity, and quality of food and cash distributed and technical assistance provided.

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

• Has experience collecting programme output and outcome data, conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, and reporting findings to management team, partners and other stakeholders.
• Has experience utilizing WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards.
