OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

  • To reduce childhood mobility and mortality attributable to vaccine preventable diseases by implementing routine and supplemental immunization activities for children and women of child bearing age in accordance with established technical guidelines.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Proactively participate in the development and strengthening of national Monitoring and Evaluation systems, including but not limited to establishing partnerships with national coordination entities.
  • Conduct the evaluation of country activities and ensure reporting on implementation and identify lessons learned that will result in effective planning on country office activities such as immunization programme and other public health programmes.
  • Conduct data collection and facilitate the adaptation of indicators for monitoring the national situations and responses, together with appropriate mechanisms for harmonizing and promoting effective synergies among partners and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and develop an Indicator Framework to monitor performance.
  • Evaluate the quality of work of government and partners through the use of newly developed M&E tools, regular meetings, and follow-ups.
  • Collaborate to the development and implementation of strategic planning processes with emphasis to participatory reviews of national programmes as well as conduct the preparation, collation and dissemination Public Health reports.
  • Provide regular briefings on Project Cycle Management, monitoring and evaluation, fund raising …etc. with key members the senior management and partner organizations.
  • Analyse and synthesize the Country Office’s contribution to the response on public health programmes including any immunization response activities in parallel with other UN partner collaboration activities.
  • Prepare monthly reports on Country Office programmes and immunization partner activities 10. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Essential: A first level university degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Statistics, Social Sciences or related field
  • Desirable: Advanced university degree in Social Science or Business Administration

Experience

  • Essential: At least two years of related experience in monitoring and evaluation projects, methodologies, andtools, including experience in emergency operations or humanitarian context.
  • Desirable: Experience in UN organizations/agencies, international institutions or NGOs

Use of Language Skills

  • Essential: Expert knowledge of English.
