How can you make a difference? 

  • Maintain close contact with COs – mainly in Central America, Mexico, and the Caribbean, and provide technical assistance in relation to reporting of emergency related activities.
  • Prepare the following emergency-related products, as per schedule and ad-hoc requests: SitReps, donor reports, infographics, presentations, briefing notes, and other documents related to emergency activities of COs and LACRO.
  • In close coordination with Programme and Planning sections, ensure that results-based information from HPM and other monitoring tools, are reflected and used in emergency reports.
  • Provide information and support to Emergency colleagues in maintaining updated the emergency funds tracking.
  • In close coordination with COs, Programme, Communications and Partnerships, support the Emergency Unit in resource mobilization efforts by producing quality donor reports and timely inputs for fundraising proposals.
  • In coordination with EMOPS Desk, Haiti CO, and Emergency Manager/Advisor, provide support to the Emergency Unit to assist the Regional Director in its role of Global Emergency Coordinator for the management of the Haiti L3 response. This includes support in preparation of meetings, collecting inputs, following up on action points and support requests, compilation of key resources (using the Haiti SitCen), among other tasks as required.
  • In coordination with the Emergency Specialist, support key tasks in the emergency preparedness agenda for the Caribbean.
  • Any other related tasks as required by the Supervisor.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

  • University degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Education, Public Policy, Social Policy, Social Development, Community Development, or other relevant disciplines.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience including in report/proposal writing in the area of humanitarian work, such as emergency preparedness and response. 
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (written and oral) is required.
