About the Organization: The organization is a non-political, non-religious, and non-profit NGO operating across multiple countries in the West African region. The organization is expanding its vision to contribute to long-term improvements in the lives of vulnerable populations across a larger geographic area, including countries such as Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Liberia, Niger, Republic of Congo, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Job Summary: The Operations Manager will lead the organization’s operations across these diverse countries, overseeing logistics and supply chain functions while actively contributing to expanding activities beyond humanitarian logistics. This role involves managing fuel, fleet, warehouse, and workshop operations, supporting the growth of developmental initiatives in varied settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics and Supply Chain:

  • Implement and ensure adherence to procurement and logistics standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in program budget preparation across the region.
  • Foster relationships with partners and potential donors in diverse locations.
  • Motivate and build a strong team spirit among staff working in various countries.
  • Provide regular monitoring reports for each country and contribute to regional narrative reports.

Workshop and Fleet Management:

  • Direct and lead garage-related matters across multiple countries.
  • Define objectives for workshop staff in each country and monitor performance.
  • Improve workshop performance and oversee repair and maintenance activities in diverse settings.
  • Ensure proper procurement of spare parts across the region.
  • Oversee fuel distribution and management in various locations.

Warehouse and Fuel Management:

  • Monitor warehouse and fuel management across multiple countries.
  • Communicate partner issues to management from diverse operational contexts.
  • Provide timely and accurate information to Country Program Directors in each country.

Growing Activities Beyond Logistics:

  • Support drafting the regional strategy and growth plans.
  • Build a network with the donor community across the region.
  • Identify funding opportunities and develop high-quality proposals for diverse locations.
  • Manage resources for successful projects under the supervision of Country Program Directors in each country.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in project planning, international development, or a technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience, preferably in a multi-country context.
  • Proficiency in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of warehouses and fuel systems is an advantage.
  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work in diverse locations.
  • Experience in working with international development partners and NGOs.
