Duties and Responsibilities
The Publication, Conference and Knowledge Management Division (PCKMD) seeks to recruit talented and innovative Interns to be part of the newly renovated Africa Hall Visitors Centre Content development team. The Team is tasked with the delivery of multimedia content for the mobile and permanent exhibitions in the Africa Hall Visitors Centre along the selected themes of Pan Africanism and African culture and Heritage. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical prowess, and an understanding of interactive design principles to create captivating content that enhances user experiences in various environments such as museums, exhibitions, and events.
Responsibilities include
- Assist with the design and produce high-quality multimedia content for various interactive platforms, including but not limited to projections, touch screens, VR/AR setups, and other interactive displays.
- Assist with the development of storyboards, prototypes, and mockups to visualize and plan multimedia content.
- Assist with the creation of animations, video footage, graphics, and audio elements that align with project goals and user experiences.
- Utilize software and tools for 2D/3D design, video editing, and animation (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Cinema 4D, Unity, Unreal Engine).
- Assist with the implementation of interactive elements and user interfaces that are intuitive and engaging.
- Assist with user testing and gather feedback to iterate and improve multimedia content.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to multimedia content delivery.
- Carry out any other tasks assigned
Qualifications/special skills
First-level university degree in Multimedia Design, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Animation, Computer Science, or a related field. – Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme
- be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).
No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advanced course work, or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship. Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme. Do you meet any of the above criteria? If yes, please indicate which one and attach proof to the application. Please note that you will have to provide an official certificate at a later stage.
Languages
- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of an additional official UN is an advantage.
