FHI 360/Philippines (www.fhi360.org) through Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) HIV project in the Philippines is seeking applications for the position of Multimedia Specialist.

Project Overview:
EpiC is a global project funded by the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). The project provides strategic technical assistance (TA) and direct service delivery to break through barriers to 95-95-95 and promote self-reliant management of national HIV programs by improving HIV case-finding, prevention, treatment programming and viral load (VL) suppression among key populations (KPs) and priority populations (PPs). In the Philippines, EpiC works in Mega Manila to address critical gaps and bottlenecks in the response to HIV among KPs in the Philippines and build capacity of local, community based KP organizations and work closely with the government of the Philippines to deliver HIV services tailored to the needs of KPs. In addition, EpiC focuses on expanding HIV case finding in the community, expansion of PrEP and treatment initiation, adherence, and retention support for people living with HIV (PLHIV), with a focus on select key population groups.
The project has multiple activities which aim to elicit a change in behavior, to raise awareness, and or to encourage participation by the community. To help support this, there is a need for a multimedia specialist who can create engaging materials that are responsive and sensitive to the needs of each activity and are developed according to the specifications set by EpiC HIV Philippines.
Job Description:
The Multimedia Specialist will report to the Technical Advisor for SBCC of EpiC HIV Philippines in developing a wide range of print, presentation, and web-based communication materials in compliance with USAID and FHI 360 branding and identity. Typical assignments include designing infographics, publications, logos, brochures, training curricula, kits, posters, social media graphics, PowerPoint presentations, and HTML emails, among others. These products are part of the project’s work in HIV prevention and care.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conceptualize, illustrate, and design consistent theme and image of the project technical and knowledge products (e.g., presentations, newsletters, publications, brochures, reports, infographics, maps, posters, modules, manuals, etc.) as identified by the Technical Team
- Develop with the team communication briefs and contribute to the planning and execution of different PR and dissemination events, including creative illustration and creation of layout
- Articulate the rationale behind design solutions in client presentations and correspondence
- Collaborate with clients, build rapport, and nurture productive professional working relationships through the course of the project
- Appraise art directors, project managers, and/or vendors about project milestones
- Prepare mock-ups and comprehensive layouts for presentation and training or workshop materials and work closely with vendors as needed
- Create simple webpages, apps, and simple web-based communication (e.g., HTML emails)
- Assist in maintaining the project’s online presence by creating visually appealing and engaging digital content to attract and retain target audience.
- Provide recommendations and guidance in the procurement, budget, and selection of products and vendors
- Help maintain a repository of project’s products following the established online document structure and management
- Maintain a comprehensive library of assets such as logos, templates, fonts, and branding guidelines to maintain consistency across all materials.
- Provide graphic design support to project partners and subgrantees aligned to the plans of the SBCC Team
- Meet all agreed-upon deadlines and budget parameters
- Continuously improve technical and conceptual design skills
- Stay up to date with the latest design software and technologies to continually improve the quality and efficiency of design work
- Ensure that all materials are free from any typos and errors before printing and/or publishing.
- Exercise judgment within defined policies and procedures to obtain solutions to perform duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the SBCC Advisor
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or its international equivalent in graphic design, communication design, fine arts, publications, or related field required
- Requires at least three years of professional experience in graphic design and multimedia production.
- Prior work experience in USAID funded programs with disease prevention and control portfolio preferred; HIV/KP-focused programs a plus.
- Knowledge of web design, HTML, illustration, motion graphics, and video production preferred.
- Nongovernmental organizations (NGO) experience especially in public health programmes preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive background in graphic design; demonstrate an impeccable sense of typography, digital illustration, and expertise in translating data to information graphics. A portfolio will be asked.
- Strong concept-driven portfolio and exhibits a solid understanding of design principles
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software products (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
- Must be able to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced collaborative studio environment and have superb time management skills
- Work on problems that are diverse in scope and require judgment in resolving or making recommendations for solutions
- Respond to client feedback in a timely and professional manner
- Good balance of conceptualization and production skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Usual office working conditions.
- Ability to travel domestically at least 25% of the time.
The position will be based in Manila, Philippines and work out of the FHI 360 Country office. Preference is for Filipino national candidates.
