Job Title: Music Teacher

Location: Monrovia, Liberia

 

Job Summary:

 

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our educational institution. The Music Teacher will be responsible for instructing students of all ages and skill levels in various musical instruments and theory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their musical goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare lessons in accordance with students’ learning needs and curriculum guidelines.
  • Instruct students individually and in groups, adapting teaching methods to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
  • Teach students how to play various musical instruments such as piano, guitar, violin, drums, etc., depending on expertise.
  • Teach music theory, sight-reading, harmony, and other aspects of musical education.
  • Organize and direct student performances, recitals, and concerts.
  • Assess students’ musical abilities and progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Encourage and support students to participate in music competitions, festivals, and other extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with other music teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure students’ overall development.
  • Stay updated with advancements in music education and instructional technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Music Teacher or private music instructor.
  • Proficiency in playing and teaching one or more musical instruments.
  • Strong knowledge of music theory, music history, and various musical genres.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching music.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in organizing student performances and events is a plus.
