Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked among the world’s top universities. The Nanyang Assistant/Associate Professorship scheme provides the opportunity for outstanding early career researchers and exceptional scholars from Singapore and around the world, who aspire to a research leadership role at NTU. Successful NAP awardees will be given a tenure-track appointment and granted a substantial start-up grant (SUG) to lay the foundation for their research ventures within the university.

NTU invites outstanding early-career researchers (postdoctoral fellow or equivalent) to apply for an appointment as a Nanyang Assistant/Associate Professor.

 

NAP Awardees will enjoy a comprehensive set of benefits designed to support and enhance their academic and research at NTU:

  • An attractive remuneration package.
  • A tenure-track appointment and opportunities in leading roles in the University’s new wave of multi-disciplinary and integrative research projects.
  • Access to excellent R&D infrastructure, featuring state-of-the-art laboratories provided by the University, as well as opportunities for research funding.
  • Each NAP Awardee will receive a start-up research grant (SUG), which will be determined based on the awardee’s research track, as outlined below:
    STEM: Up to SGD 1.5 million startup research grant and scholarships for hiring up to 5 PhD students
    SHAPE: Up to SGD 1 million startup research grant and scholarships for hiring up to 2 PhD students
  • A dedicated White Space Fund of up to SGD 250,000, within the budget cap stipulated above.

Applications for NTU NAP can be submitted throughout the year. Interested applicants are welcome to send their CVs and other supporting documents to nanyangprofessorship@ntu.edu.sg.

The application evaluation will usually take around 2-3 months. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified/contacted by the relevant schools.
