Bats are remarkable and essential to our environment. The Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) is the
foremost non-governmental organisation dedicated to bat conservation and habitat protection.

BCT actively works on a range of initiatives to create a better world for bats. We’re

The National Bat Monitoring Programme (NBMP) is the longest running multi-species monitoring
programme for mammals in the UK. It gives us, and government, the information needed to help
inform bat conservation by monitoring the UK’s bat population. Through surveys and observation,
we can discover how they are faring and the factors that are important for their survival.
We are now looking for a NBMP Volunteer Engagement Officer on a part-time basis for a six month
fixed-term contract, working 25 hours per week.

The Role
As a NBMP Volunteer Engagement Officer, you will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the
programme.
You’ll support the NBMP Survey Officer to administer the programme, building relationships with
various organisations, engaging new volunteers, assisting with queries and contributing to the
NBMP Annual Report.
Developing resources to engage new audiences and promote our introductory survey, you’ll create
and schedule social media posts, invite people to share stories via social media and contribute
to our ‘Bat Monitoring Post’ e-bulletin.
