The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. IRRI is an independent, nonprofit, research and educational institute, founded in 1960 by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations with support from the Philippine government.
The institute, headquartered in Los Baños, Philippines, has offices in 17 rice-growing countries in Asia and Africa, and over 1,000 staff. Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.
This position is remote based and must only be filled by the permanent residents of India.
The job would involve data acquisition, analysis and establishment of effective communication channel with different stakeholders involved in the project.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Proficient in collecting, cleaning, and processing diverse datasets on Green House Gases (GHG) from different project sites
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights and trends from data, employing statistical methods corresponding to GHG
  • Skilled in conducting thorough research, literature reviews, and data-driven investigations to contribute valuable insights to project (Should have relevant publications in the same field)
  • Adept at translating research findings into high-quality publications, including research papers, reports, and articles for dissemination. Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing potential challenges
Key outputs and deliverables:
  • Comprehensive documentation
  • Visual representations of key insights and trends identified through data analysis
  • Detailed analysis reports highlighting key findings
  • Regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions
  • Training materials or sessions for stakeholders on interpreting and using data insights
Qualifications:
  • Post-graduation with experience or PhD degree in the domain of agriculture, experience in greenhouse gas measurement and reporting
