Description

Context and Core Functions / Responsibilities

Since 2014, the conflict with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) resulted in large-scale displacement across Iraq; the effects of which continue to reverberate across the region. Humanitarian and protection need remain significant across the country, despite the discontinuation of the humanitarian cluster system and the transition away from a post-conflict context.

In Iraq various forms of Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) are prevalent. Recognizing the invaluable expertise of local stakeholders and their pivotal role as primary actors within their communities, IOM seeks to promote localization and strengthen the role of local actors in delivering VAWG services.

IOM plans to integrate the  SASA! Together approach, developed by Raising Voices, a non-profit organization into the current Community Based Protection (CBP) initiatives to tackle violence against women and girls. SASA! Together is a community mobilization approach that supports communities to create positive and sustainable changes around norms that perpetuate violence against women.

Through the scope of this consultancy, IOM is looking to have an artist/ graphic designer who will develop some Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials related to the SASA! Together methodology. IOM is seeking an artist who can follow closely the elements of existing artwork to create new artwork in their own style appropriate for a diverse region. IOM will seek feedback from a variety of reviewers from Iraq; the artist will be asked to integrate modifications into their drawings, as requested, which may require multiple versions to finalize.
