EXPECTED OUTPUTS AND TIMELINES: Output 1: The company monitoring indicators / data for the selected dried fruits SMEs companies from the southern part of Tajikistan updated (data for 2023), by 20 April 2024. Output 2: The Export Management Coaching mission is delivered, including visits to the premises of each selected SMEs (at least 3 SMEs), one-on-one meetings and dedicated consultations and the submission of a full coaching report to the selected SMEs and to ITC, by 30 May 2024. Output 3: Support provided in organizing the missions of ITC experts (at least one mission) and company visits in Khatlon region and follow-up with the beneficiary companies conducted based on the recommendations from ICs, after events reports prepared including feedback from the participants, by 30 August 2024. Output 4: Support provided in the planning and organization of study tours and marketing missions (trade fair participation and buyer-seller meetings) (at least two), April to October 2024. Output 5: Mobilized participants and assisted with the organization of workshops, webinars and roundtables conducted as per the project workplan (at least 3); reports submitted, including the program, actual list of participants and event evaluation by participants, April to December 2024. Output 6: Final activity report with recommendations prepared and submitted to ITC, by 20 December 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities
The International Trade Centre (ITC) is the joint development agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations, which enables small businesses to improve exports in developing and transition countries by providing, with partners, sustainable and inclusive trade development solutions to the private sector, trade support institutions and policymakers. The Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (OEECA) is responsible for developing, monitoring, coordinating and implementing ITC’s activities and projects in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.In Tajikistan, ITC currently implements the Trade Promotion East (TPE): Balkan States and Central Asia, funded by the Government of Switzerland (SECO). Tajikistan is one of the four countries, together with Uzbekistan, Albania, and Serbia, selected to be part of the TPE programme. OBJECTIVE: The project will focus on the competitiveness and sustainable export growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and improving the capacities of business support organizations (BSOs) to provide quality services to SMEs. Furthermore, the programme will foster regional exchange and knowledge sharing facilitated among SMEs and BSOs from partner countries. Agribusiness in general, but dried fruits sector for Tajikistan was identified as a viable priority sector for assistance. The project is structured around three outcomes formulated as follows: Outcome 1: Improved competitiveness and sustainability of SMEs in the agribusiness sector; Outcome 2: Improved BSOs performance in the agribusiness sector; and Outcome 3: Enhanced regional / sectoral exchange and collaboration between sector actors. In Tajikistan, the project seeks the services of a National Consultant for the southern part of Tajikistan to update the company monitoring indicators/baseline data for the project partner companies in collaboration with the Khatlon Business Association (KBA), deliver advisory support and coaching services on Export Management to selected SMEs, and mobilize SMEs in the Khatlon region for participation at different project events. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the overall guidance of the Programme Coordinator, Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (OEECA), and the direct supervision of the National Project Manager, the National Consultant for the southern part of Tajikistan will carry out the following tasks: 1. Update company monitoring indicators/baseline data for 12 partner SMEs in the agribusiness sector from the south part of Tajikistan (data for 2023) as per structure provided by ITC. • Collect and summarise company specific data and information (at least 12 companies). 2. Provide advisory support and coaching services on Export Management using instruments and skills developed under the ITC Ready4Trade project, Export Management Coaching Imitative component, to selected SMEs (at least 3 companies to be selected by ITC in collaboration with KBA) to improve the SMEs’ export management practices in the following areas: • Packaging and Labelling; • Mandatory Certifications / Registrations & Buyer Standards; • Customs and Duties; • International Shipping by Sea, Rail, Road and Air; and • Export Planning. 3. Provide support for organizing missions of ITC international consultants and experts (at least one mission) and accompany them during company visits in Khatlon region and provide translation from English into Russian/Tajik and vice versa, as required. Ensure timely follow-up with the beneficiary companies based on the recommendations from ICs. Mobilize participants for the events. Prepare after events reports including feedback from the participants. 4. Provide support in planning and organizing study tours and marketing missions (trade fair participation and buyer-seller meetings) (at least two) for partner SMEs in Khatlon region, if required. 5. Provide assistance in organizing workshops and trainings as per the project workplan: mobilize stakeholders and resource people for seminars, trainings and other meetings to be organized by the project (at least 3), assist ITC field office to organize logistics, report on the event including evaluation by participants. 6. Provide inputs for quarterly and annual project reports for Tajikistan. 7. Final reports on work completed, including recommendations. Copyright Clause: The Consultant has to ensure that s/he has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform his/her services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the Consultant shall request prior written permission from ITC. S/he has further to ensure to obtain accreditation to event(s), if required. Qualifications/special skills
Undergraduate degree (BA/BSC or other) in economics, business administration or equivalent. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. At least 10 years of experience as a trainer. Experience in training in the fields of: a) business consulting and coaching b) IT and digital technologies c) marketing and export, implementation of international standards Solid experience in organizing and coordinating trainings and information sessions in the Agricultural industry or related fields. Experience working with international organizations. Prior experience working with ITC or trade promotion agencies in Tajikistan would be an asset. Good understanding of agricultural production and processing of agricultural products.
Languages
Advanced Russian and Tajik. Intermediate English.
