How can you make a difference for UNICEF?

Under the supervision and technical guidance of the P3 Education Cluster Coordinator in Ouagadougou, the National Information Manager will ensure information management for the Education Cluster and the education sector led by UNICEF. His/her role involves collecting, analyzing and sharing education data to improve the effectiveness of interventions. He/she will support the national coordination of the Education Cluster, monitor the implementation of integrated multi-sectoral interventions, as well as monitoring the Education Dashboards. He/she will provide technical and operational assistance to UNICEF and the team. He/she will prepare, manage and implement a variety of technical tasks, related to monitoring, evaluation and coordination of interventions.

Your main functions:

  • The development and management of the Cluster’s information collection and management tools
  • The creation and management of data and information storage spaces
  • Technical support to information management of needs assessment processes, particularly in data collection, processing/compilation and analysis including humanitarian performance monitoring and JENA
  • Training partners on the use of data collection tools and their exploitation
  • Management of the Cluster website and other communication tools
  • Developing appropriate strategies for visualization, mapping and dissemination of data/information
  • Contribution to the HNO-HRP 2026 process: Lead the process of generating the PiN and its update; targeting beneficiaries and supporting the updating of activities and budget
  • Inter-sectoral Coordination for Information Management within UNICEF, within humanitarian coordination and to government partners.

To qualify as a Champion for Every Child, you must have:

Education: 

  • A university degree (BAC+3) in one of the following fields is required: statistical data management, information management, geographic information systems, information technology, statistics or relevant disciplines is required.

Experience:

  • Have at least 1 year of professional experience in an information management position; experience in emergency situations is required.
  • Experience in managing data projects that combine innovative and practical dimensions.
  • Demonstrated exceptional analytical skills and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and experience using mapping and data visualization tools (e.g. ArcMap, Tableau, Power, QGIS)
  • Good understanding of results-based monitoring approach, understanding of project cycle management.
  • Good understanding of the humanitarian approach, humanitarian reform, the transformation agenda and the roles of each humanitarian actor (government, UNOCHA, sectors, organizations)
  • Good understanding of sector/cluster coordination in emergency situations to be able to engage with sector participants and understand sector specific needs in information management.

Advantages:

  • Experience in international development work with a United Nations agency or NGO, especially in the area of ​​nutrition
  • Knowledge and experience in using mapping tools

Language requirements: 

  • Fluency in French and working knowledge of English are required.
  • Knowledge of the local language of the duty station is considered an asset.
